A background fading from purple to pink, a big white title and a rounded button: this is the most common first screen on AI-made landing pages. It is also a large area that tells a parent looking for information nothing at all.
A machine check blocks it. check-ai-tells, part of design:audit, counts rules in the built styles that use linear-gradient, radial-gradient or conic-gradient and fails above zero. So no pack uses a gradient on a background.
Instead the home head (HomeHero) builds order from text size and weight on a solid background. The editorial variant on the right consists of a title, a one-line description, a trust sentence and one lead article under “start here,” all left-aligned. Pick finder when topics should be the star, or featured when the lead article’s title should be the largest thing.
When to use
Think of it when the home first screen feels plain. Before decorating the background, adjust the size gap between title and description, and the spacing.
